Walkathon raises thousands

The Cedar Grove-Belgium Parent Teacher Student Organization’s third annual walkathon on Oct. 11 raised about $6,000. The event is the PTSO’s largest fundraiser of the year, with money going toward educational opportunities and resources for students and staff. Students in 4K through eighth grade participated, including fifth graders (above). Port Washington State Bank and Oostburg State Bank donated prizes, snacks and water. The PTSO revamped its mission, values and goals this year, with its mission being to strengthen, enhance, and encourage the educational and social environment of Cedar Grove-Belgium students.
