The Village of Fredonia is seeking vendors to participate in the farmers market that will run on Wednesdays from June 13 through Oct. 31 in the Fredonia Government Center parking lot.

According to Trustee TJ Meyers-Jansky, chairman of the village’s Economic Development Committee, there are five vendors signed up but she would like to have 15 to 20 at the farmers market.

Fresh produce and handmade items will be featured at the farmer’s market. Previous vendors showcased vegetables, fruits, flowers, honey, maple syrup, crafts, woodworking, and textiles like quilts, embroidery, weaving, pottery and birdhouses.

Local artists and photographers are also welcome.

Vendor paperwork is available at Fredonia Village Hall, 242 Fredonia Ave., and must be submitted with a full payment.

The seasonal rate for vendors is $60 or $10 per week.

Each vendor will be allowed to have two parking lot spaces to set up.

“The farmers market is important because it allows hobbyist, crafters, artists and local growers to showcase their products affordably,” Meyers-Jansky said. “Participation is also important for the community to offer them a local option close to their doorstep to purchase fresh produce, flowers, and unique gift items. It is a great place for entrepreneurs to get exposure.”
