Town will pay county at least $224,000 for road maintenance, upgrades in 2020

Ozaukee Press Staff

The Town of Fredonia has agreed to pay Ozaukee County a minimum of $224,000 for road work in 2020.

The projected cost includes mowing ditches, paving, patching and snow plowing.

The agreement is through the county’s Guaranteed Work Partnership program, which requires the town to hire the Ozaukee County Highway Department at a rate equal to 85% of its three-year average for road maintenance work.

Town electors voted in November to allow the town to exceed its state levy limit by $178,219, mostly to improve the town’s 51 miles of roads.
