The Port Washington High School gymnastics team lost to Nicolet, 134.45 to 116.25, on Feb. 5, but coach Gale Sigler saw signs of improvement.

“It was encouraging to see the team score move upward after the small dip we experienced in our last two match-ups,” she said.

Vault gave Port 31.95 points. Audrey Dickson had 8.25, McKenzie Rick 7.95, Liz Ernest 7.9 and Emma Bollech 7.85.

Dickson got 7.95 on bars and Bollech got 7.15. Dickson got 7.475 on beam. On floor, Dickson got 8.1, Rick 7.4 and Bollech 7.25.

“Even though we still encountered some wobbles and falls on beam, the team is definitely moving in a positive direction and setting themselves up for a successful conference meet,” Sigler said.

Port was to compete at Whitefish Bay on Tuesday and host Shorewood on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
