Ozaukee starts outdoor track

The Ozaukee High School girls’ track and field team won the Kohler triangular meet on April 2 and mixed up its lineup at the Hilbert triangular on April 4.

On April 2, the Warriors scored 59 points. Manitowoc Lutheran had 48 and Kohler 36.

They won seven events: Delanie McFadden, 100 meters, 12.32 seconds, and 200, 25.75; Kelley Large, 3,200, 13:00; Ashlee Mueller, 800, 2:43.94; Greta Klas, 400, 1:13.95; the 3,200 relay of Mueller, Klas, Large and Amy Hoffmann, 10:53; the 800 relay of Brynn Meyer, Allison Stahl, Brianna Bustamante and Becca Schauer, 1:58.59; and the 1,600 relay of Bustamante, Stahl, Hoffmann and Schauer, 4:34.34.

The boys scored 24 points. Kohler had 95 and Lutheran 46.

Shamir Garcia won the long jump at 18 feet, 3 inches, and Trent Simpson won the high jump at 5-10.

At the Hilbert meet, coach Andrew Pfeuffer had his athletes try some new events.

The girls had 41 points. Hilbert had 61 and Manitowoc Lutheran 59.

Large won the 1,600 in 5:54.77 and 800 in 2:43.41. McFadden won the 100 in 12.75 and the 200 in 26.23.

The 3,200 relay of Klas, Stahl, Sarah Nehls and Ally Clark won in 11:50.21.

The boys scored 40 points. Hilbert had 68 and Lutheran 54.

They had three firsts: Simpson, high jump, 5-8; Sam Schubert, 800, 2:20.93; and the 3,200 relay of Matt Baldwin, Calvin McKee, Josh Behling and Tyler Mueller, 10:12.34.

Ozaukee competes Friday at Random Lake and April 16 at Cedar Grove-Belgium.
