A new New Year’s Eve tradition

Players scrambled for balls during the inaugural Port Washington High School Alumni Dodgeball Tournament held in the school’s new wrestling room on Dec. 31. Eighteen teams, each with at least six players С the oldest was in his 60s С participated in the double-elimination tournament. The winning team was the Class of 2015, which took home a trophy. In lieu of an entry fee, the teams donated more than $1,000 to the PWSSD Foundation, which is currently raising money for athletic facility improvements in the district. The tournament organized by High School Principal Eric Burke was such a success that the second annual event is planned for the end of 2019.                                        Photo by Sam Arendt
