Literacy Center asks for gifts to match grant
Thanks to a $6,000 challenge grant, every dollar the Adult Literacy Center of Ozaukee County receives through Dec. 31 will be matched, up to $6,000.
Bob and Jan Blazich, the Endowment fund at Grace Lutheran Church-Grafton and the Zaun Foundation are making the grant .
The ALC helps its students work toward completing their high school equivalency exam, improving their general education skills, learn English as a second language or gain their U.S. citizenship, including three in 2019.
Literacy Center students come from every continent except Australia and Antarctica. Education levels vary from pre-reading skills to a student who recently received her Ph.D.
Gifts to the ALC are tax deductible and can be made online at www.AdultLiteracyOZ.org or mailed to the Adult Literacy Center, 715 Sixth Ave., Grafton, WI 53024.
