LETTER: Shades of ‘Animal Farm’ seen in Wisconsin legislative politics

To Ozaukee Press:

It is a fact that the governor of Wisconsin has one of the broadest budget veto powers of any governor in the country. Republicans in the Senate and Assembly intend to fix that problem by amending the state constitution.

It is also a fact that Wisconsin is one of the most gerrymandered states in the country. Do they intend to fix that problem also? They can do it internally even without amending the constitution. Or is this a classic example from George Orwell’s book, “Animal Farm,” in which it depends on whose ox is being gored.
