LETTER: New society members bring a fresh outlook on Port history

To Ozaukee Press:

We wish to say thank you to the Ozaukee Press, reporter Joe Poirier and photographer Sam Arendt for the kind article about the Port Washington Historical Society that was featured in Transitions magazine in last week’s Press.

It surely is a passion and love of history that motivates us. We continue to be an organization of volunteers ready to welcome others to fill a variety of roles at all three buildings, whether at the Resource Center, the 1860 Light Station or the Port Exploreum.

Many of our volunteers have been new to the community and have found a way to become an integral part of the city, bringing a fresh outlook and appreciation of their new hometown and its history.

For those interested, our website at www.pwhistory.org will give more information about ways to become involved.
