LETTER: Jack Janik: a well-spoken man worthy of a Shakespeare quote

To Ozaukee Press:

Wonderful compliments to Jack Janik in last week’s Ozaukee Press from many people who knew him well. Because of Jack, God rest his soul, and his very supportive family, especially his wife Louise and his two sons, Dave and Chris, the National Flag Day Foundation in Waubeka is a site that draws people from all over America to celebrate National Flag Day in Waubeka.

Because of Jack Janik, this event seems to be growing bigger every year.

On a personal note, I loved Jack’s masculine, husky voice. He would have made a great sports announcer on radio and TV.

And he was always a most gracious complimenter of other people’s achievements and very aware of what was going on in his community, including on Mother’s Day sending roses to women he considered great achievers in their communities.

I’m sure his funeral Mass on Nov. 17 will be a sacred occasion for many of us, honoring this great man.

In the words of William Shakespeare, “Good night, sweet prince. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
