LETTER: Here are solutions to Fish Day, Blues Factory, other problems

To Ozaukee Press:
I’m writing this to offer ideas to the Fish Day Committee and City of Port
Washington. I do enjoy living here, so I’m glad to offer my two cents worth. Please let me know if you need any more problems solved.
    Fish Day issues solved:
    1. Put the car show and craft fair in the marina parking lot.
    2. Move the main stage to the north end of the bluff facing south.
    3. Move the helicopter rides to Coal Dock Park.
    4. Move all the fish stands so they are north of the water filtration plant. (The Newport Shores project will not affect the fish stands in this location.)
    5. Three fish stands in lower lake park (Yacht Club, tent in parking lot north of Inventors, tent corner of Lake and Jackson).
    6. Three fish stands in Upper Lake Park (beer garden, Lions pavilion, Kiwanis pavilion).
    City development issues solved:
    1. Turn the old Shopko Express into the Blues Factory. It has parking and accessibility. Offer revolving loan fund to help convert the space.
    2. To determine lot size for the new houses on Grant Street, take the average size of the lots in the existing neighborhood. This way it will be fair, not over crowded and look similar to the other lots in the neighborhood.
    3. Sidewalks in bluff neighborhood—instead of wasting money on sidewalks nobody wants or needs, put that money towards picking up all the fallen trees on the bike path and cleaning out the drainage ditch that could potentially be clogged and flood the area again.
    4. Use the city lot for sale on South Spring Street to build a substation for a firehouse to service that side of the city.
