June 20 ribbon cutting, beer garden to open stage

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the new stage at the Port Washington beer garden will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 20.
In addition, a beer garden and community potluck will be held in Upper Lake Park from 6 to 8 p.m.
“We have a band, and the potluck is meant for everyone to sit down together as a community and enjoy what we have to offer,” Recreation Director Kiley Schulte said, noting everyone is asked to bring a dish to pass for the dinner.
“The stage is beautiful and a wonderful addition to the beer garden and the park.”
Proceeds from the garden will go to offset a shortage of funding for the stage, which was primarily built using money raised by Be3 and the Port Washington Lions Club.
“The stage is beautiful,” Schulte said. “We’re just a little short on the funding, so hopefully people will contribute a little bit toward the stage.
“It’s a wonderful addition to our park and our community.”
