Independence Day festivities canceled due to pandemic

The Celebrate Grafton Committee has announced the cancellation of all of this year’s Independence Day activities, including the parade, Holidaze Where Music Plaze and fireworks display.

The committee decided to cancel the events due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but said it hopes to plan future events that are safe for community members and local businesses.

“This decision has been a difficult one to make and was thoroughly thought about by each member of the committee,” Celebrate Grafton President John Safstrom said.

“The Celebrate Grafton board of directors has decided that special precautions must still be taken.”

The cancellation only applies to Grafton’s Independence Day celebrations. There will be updates for future events such as Grafton’s Traveling Food Truck Tour and Fall Into Grafton. The Giro d’ Grafton cycling event has been postponed by Tour of America’s Dairyland.

Updates can be found at www.grafton-wi.org/celebrate-grafton.

Celebrate Grafton is a nonprofit organization that plans and oversees most of the community’s annual festivities.
