Hinsa named to Naval Academy honors list

Midshipman ​Peter Hinsa has been named to the U.S. Naval Academy’s superintendent’s list for the fall term.

To earn the honor, midshipmen must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.4 and receive an A in conduct and military performance and an A or B in physical education or the physical readiness test. They are ranked in the top third of their company as voted by their peers.

Hinsa, a member of the  Class of 2019, is majoring in cyber operations/security. 

As the drum major, Hinsa leads the Naval Academy Drum & Bugle Corps in formal and public parades and conducts the corps at athletic events. He also plays trombone as a member of Trident Jazz and sings with the academy’s Catholic Choir.

He is the son of Frank and Michelle Ryer Hinca of Northbrook, Ill., and the grandson of Geri Zehren of Port Washington, the late Roy Zehren and the late Gene Ryer.
