A recent addition to the Philadelphia Phillies has a Port Washington connection.

Adam Haseley, 23, was called up to the big leagues last week after just six games with triple-A Lehigh Valley after the Phillies’ starting center fielder Andrew McCutchen was lost for the season due to a torn ACL.

Haseley grew up in Orlando, Fla., and is the son of Port native Rich, whose father Don lives in Port.

Haseley’s fast rise through the minor league ranks was matched by his debut with the Phillies.

He went 0-for-4 in his first game on June  4 and the next day he sliced an RBI single down the left-field line in the eighth inning for a double that scored the go-ahead run in a 7-5 comeback win over the San Diego Padres on the road. He also scored a run and walked.

“He’s going places,” an excited Don Haseley said.

Unfortunately, the next place Haseley went was the 10-day Injured List on Saturday with a left groin strain.

He was drafted by the Phillies with the eighth pick in 2017.
