Village of Fredonia officials are seeking residents to participate in focus groups whose input will help steer future efforts to market, promote and develop the community.

“We really need them,” village Trustee T.J. Meyers-Jansky said at Tuesday’s meeting of the Economic Development Committee, which she chairs.

The focus groups are part of the village’s economic development strategy that begins with creating a village “brand” that could be used to attract businesses and residents, officials say.

Officials are hoping to get 36 volunteers to answer questions and share thoughts on what they like and how they feel about Fredonia.

The first focus group meeting is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Village Hall. Food, drinks and door prizes will be available.

To apply to be a member of the focus group, call Village Hall at 692-9125.

The next Economic Development Committee meeting, where the focus groups will again be discussed, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the Village Hall.
