EDITORIAL: Governor comes to Port bearing a gift for conservation

Gov. Tony Evers delivered a Wisconsin Coastal Management grant for a wetlands conservation project to Ozaukee County on June 5 in a presentation held in the Courthouse in Port Washington. Displaying smiles and a big replica of a $100,000 check were (from left) County Board Chairman Lee Schlenvogt, Andrew Struck, county planning and parks director, and Evers. The governor congratulated Americorps volunteers who will be doing the project work along the Little Menomonee River (photo at right). At the Courthouse reception, Port Washington Mayor Marty Becker (left photo) and Andy Holschbach, county land and water management director, chatted with the governor.           Photos by Sam Arendt
