The 024 Taproom and the Bottle Shop of Grafton will be hosting a craft beer festival on Saturday, June 9, called Beer on the Bridge.

“I want to make Grafton a destination,” said Paul Alexander, owner of the 024 Taproom, adding he expects people from Milwaukee and other surrounding areas to attend.

From noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, the bridge from 14th Avenue to 15th Avenue will be closed for the event.

More than 30 craft breweries with about 100 types of beer will set up tasting stands along Bridge Street. Some of the breweries include O’so Brewing Co., Potosi Brewery, Lakefront Brewery and Sprecher Brewery.

“We have a good local flavor. There’s no doubt about that,” Alexander said, noting there will be breweries from Oklahoma, Missouri and Chicago participating.

There will be five food vendors and live music from the Maple Blues Band during the event.

Inside the 024 Taproom will be a home brewing contest in which Alexander expects to have 15 to 20 entries. The first-place prize grants the winner can brew his beer at the Fermentorium Brewery and Tasting Room in Cedarburg.

VIP access tickets are $75, which includes an extra one-hour early access to the event, free T-shirt, $10 food voucher and a sampler glass.

General access tickets are $50, which provide access to unlimited sampling starting at 1 p.m. and a sampler glass.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the 024 Taproom, the Bottle Shop of Grafton or online at https://conta.cc/2JDSJ48.

“Beer festival attendees are notorious for being last-minute people, so we’ll have tickets available at the event,” Alexander said. “If this year is successful, we hope to make this an annual event.”
