Arlene Groth

Arlene Theresa Groth (nee Grasser), 83, of Cedarburg, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019, from unexpected heart complications.  

Arlene was born on Feb. 19, 1936, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary Grasser of Port Washington.   

Arlene enjoyed winters in Florida, watching football and exercise class. Arlene took every opportunity to take walks and talk to people along the way.  

Arlene spent her early years raising four children and helped her late husband Howard Groth run their family well-drilling business.

Arlene was an active member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg.

Arlene is survived by her children James (fiancee Monika Mitchell) Groth, Barbara (Frederick) Berres, Sue (Craig) Birnschein and Michael Groth; grandchildren Falon Groth, Jason (Ashley) Groth, Heather (Kurt) Hansen, Greg Berres, Jeff Berres, Steve Berres, Mathew Buelow, Kayla Birnschein and Morgan Birnschein; great-grandson Lucas Groth; her siblings  Marion (Marvin) Huiras and Paul (Ann) Grasser; other relatives; and many friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at  noon at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Rd., Cedarburg.  Father Tom Eichenberger will officiate.  

Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 to 11:45 a.m.  

Arlene will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon next to her dear beloved husband Howard, who preceded her in death in 2009.
