Architectural Treasures Tour

The 50th anniversary Architectural Treasures Tour, will be held in Cedarburg on Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28. The tour will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Docents will lead tours at each of the featured buildings. Featured on this year’s tour are an 1860’s stone home and notable homes and buildings designed by Cedarburg architect, William H. Hilgen, who was known for his unique architectural style and attention to detail. He moved to Cedarburg and practiced architecture in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, leaving his mark on the city with the many homes, churches and commercial buildings he designed. All the properties on the tour are within walking distance of downtown Cedarburg. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the tour at each building or at the Cedarburg Cultural Center, W62 N546 Washington Ave. Cash will only be accepted at the homes. Advance tickets may be purchased at the Cultural Center, at Piggly Wiggly in Cedarburg or Johnson Gardens. Tickets are good for both days. Proceeds from the tour support Cedarburg Cultural Center programming.
