Cedar Grove-Belgium School Board members and the district administrative team were asked to prioritize “immediate and future needs,” Supt. Jeanne Courneene said at the Sept. 24 board meeting.

Last week, Courneene asked the seven-member board and administrative team to weigh how the district should determine future needs like technology, high school electives and facility upgrades, among other categories.

Criteria weighted by board members and administrators included impact on student learning, impact on student population, cost, ease of implementation and impact on the school district.

Board members and administrators were also asked to rank their priorities for future planning in terms of academics, athletics, communication, facilities and student experience.

School Board President Chad Hoopman said the survey was “very efficient” and he is “looking forward to seeing the results.”

Courneene is expected to have the results of the survey completed by the Oct. 8 board meeting.

High School Principal Josh Ketterhagen said he would also present results from a fitness center survey that was distributed to high school coaches and other athletic personnel.
