Duluth Trading Company, which has a Port Washington location at 108 N. Franklin St., saw a company-wide 21.9% increase sales for its first quarter ending April 30, the company announced.
The hike brought net sales to $83.7 million, compared to  $68.6 million in the prior-year first quarter.
It marked the 29th consecutive quarter of increased year-over-year net sales.
The company, which sells a lifestyle brand of men’s and women’s casual wear, work wear and accessories, also during the first quarter opened retail stores in Noblesville, Ind., Burlington, Mass., Macomb, Mich., and Warwick, R.I. The company said it expects to open a total of 12 new stores and one outlet store this year.
“Our first quarter results were in line with our expectations and we remain on track to deliver on our 2017 financial guidance,” said Stephanie Pugliese, chief executive officer of Duluth Trading. “Both our men’s and women’s business saw positive momentum with new products such as Bullpen Underwear, Ballroom Khakis and the No-Yank Tank.
“In addition to the expansion of retail, we invested in the growth of our women’s business through incremental spending in women’s TV advertising, continuing to grow that part of the business and bringing new brand fans to the customer base.”
