Brouillette says clinic is another sign of his commitment to Fredonia

Fredonia chiropractor David Brouillette has opened a new business, Stony Creek Massage, adjacent to his back and neck clinic on Fredonia Avenue.

“Although chiropractic and massage therapy complement each other, they are two separate businesses. Clients can come to Stony Creek Massage without a referral, and there will be no bait-and-switch pressure to get them to receive chiropractic services,” Brouillette said.

The businesses have separate storefront entries but share a 2,000-square-foot building at 511 Fredonia Ave. The massage clinic has three massage therapists on staff.

Although therapeutic massage will be offered as an adjunct to chiropractic care, Brouillette said, Swedish, deep tissue, neuromuscular and sport massages are also available.

In addition to the obvious pain relief benefits of massage, he said, treatments can decrease a patient’s anxiety and improve sleep quality, as well as enhance concentration and circulation.

Brouillette said the massage clinic is another sign of his commitment to the community.

When he opened in 1995,  Brouillette  initially offered chiropractic care in Fredonia three days a week. The response was so positive he opened the full-time clinic 15 years ago.

“It is a different experience operating a health-care clinic in a small town, but people here have been very receptive. At this point, I would say I know just about everyone in Fredonia, and it has proven to be a great place to work and raise a family,” Brouillette said.

“I am sure it is different from running clinics in a place like downtown Chicago, but at conferences I can tell them my commute to work is six minutes — if I get stuck behind a tractor.”

Brouillette said the massage clinic allows him to try some new approaches to patient service, too.

Appointments can be scheduled online, something he hasn’t yet offered at the chiropractic clinic.

Through October, the clinic is offering half-price discounts to get massage clients to visit the new facility. Membership discounts are also being offered to patients who schedule monthly visits.

“We are doing what we can to get people in the door,” Brouillette said.
